FRANK SINATRA STANDING NEXT TO TBIRD – FRANK WORTH

Frank Sinatra stands next to his brand new Ford Thunderbird in September 1955 just before the release of The Man with the Golden Arm in which Sinatra took the lead. The car, a 1955 Ford Thunderbird convertible was bought for Frank Sinatra by his recording company Capitol Records.

AYRTON SENNA F1 CAR – LEO MASON

In 1986, sporting history was made. For this is the first time ever a remote camera rig, designed by legendary sports photographer Leo Mason, was attached to an F1 car. The image is of the back of Ayrton Senna’s F1 car as it looks onto another classic Marlboro Ferrari. A sheer sense of speed is captured by this snapshot.

MODEL DRIVING PALM SPRINGS – DANIELA FEDERICI

The idea behind ‘Model Driving Through Palm Spring’ was to recreate a cinematic editorial for LA Confidential with a series of images that reflected the ambience of a 1950’s thriller. Referencing famed Hollywood stills from Starsky and Hutch to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, the mysterious model cruises through an arid landscape at dusk.

RICKSHAW – STUART HAMILTON

Juxtaposing the humble rickshaw against the corporate ‘majesty’ of the skyscraper and skyline behind it, this photograph presents the competing realities and effects of rapid urbanisation and wealth generation inherent in many emerging economies.

RUSHING HOME – YONG LIN TAN

This was shot at Kampung Baru during the Raya Festival during the evening rush hour out of the city. Raining heavily, colours are slightly blurred as the motorist speeds by.

341 TO WATERLOO – MATT FREESTONE

This shot was taken from a tourist boat on the Thames. The texture of the concrete arches contrasts with that of the rippling river and the brooding clouds. The famous red London double-decker bus perfectly balances the image with the dome of St.Pauls.

A metropolitan image that evokes the fast, constant life of one of the greatest cities on earth, Saito captures this moment on the iconic Bay Bridge.
