Description
Shot for Vogue, 'Blonde on Blonde' features clothing by Yves Saint Laurent, whose career Helmut Newton is largely credited for helping to launch with avant-garde images such as this one. In this print, two identical women (one is a mannequin) stand in tantalisingly close proximity to each other, creating an imperfect but surreal mirror image. Often Newton worked in pairs, creating compositional dialogues that lent a sense of mystery and subversive tension to the work - creating untold, imaginary narratives.

This limited edition fine art print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Norman Solomon. The ownership rights of this vintage print are supported by an original agreement with Newton in 1984, and supplemented by a further agreement with The Helmut Newton Estate in 2012.
