Artichoke Flower
The artichoke flower is actually an artichoke going to seed. The blossoms measure up to seven inches in diameter and are a beautiful violet-blue color.
Ancient Greeks and Romans considered artichokes a delicacy and an aphrodisiac. In Ancient Greece, the artichoke was attributed to being effective in securing the birth of boys.
"Any viewer or owner of art should get joy in viewing it, maybe even thought provoked."
