Alice Cooper, 2009.iCons project for Elton John AIDS Foundation

I shot Alice (or Vincent) in Flemings Mayfair. What bowled me over was how articulate and knowledgeable he was. He was great friends with Salvador Dali, and Dali made several sculptures featuring Alice. But the story that blew me away was the fact Alice was good friends with Groucho Marx. Groucho was an insomniac and would phone Alice and ask him to pop over to his house at 2-3am. They would sit in bed together and watch old movies. Now THAT would have been a Kodak moment.

ABOUT ALICE COOPER

Born in Detroit, rock musician Alice Cooper formed his first band in high school and by the late 1960s had caught the attention of guitarist Frank Zappa.

The group hit it big with several successful albums in the mid-1970s. Cooper went solo in 1974 and continued with success.

In 2011, Cooper and his former band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
