Our new artist of the week, ANNA HIGGIE
is a Bristol based illustrator.
Originally from Australia, Higgie attended art school for 4 years to study fine drawing. However, her decision to move onto illustration meant that she wisely swapped traditional drawing and a life in London for a slower pace in Bristol.
Anna has created a style that reflects brilliant draughtsmanship.
She boasts an impressive clientele so far with some of the most desirable clients in the industry such as Sigerson Morrison, Penguin, The Guardian and Bloomingdales.
Her stunning realism and intriguing use of portraiture is challenged by reoccurring geometric patterns. With intricate overlaying, she creates a fascinating symbiosis that echoes inspiration from Egon Schiel and MC Esher. Some of her other work is reminiscent of 1960’s album cover art work taking spiralling psychedelic colour to reimagine soul and musical culture.
Anna is part of a growing network of UK based illustrators that ONGallery represent. Her work can be found online at www.ongallery.com and is available framed or unframed in a range of sizes.
