HOLDING MY HEART

As Johnny Thornton recounts, "My infatuation with my ex-wife Alex is manifest in this image, photographed in Barry Ryan's flat in Kensington. Barry decided to make adjoining rooms, smashing down part of the separating wall with a sledgehammer. On seeing this, I thought it would make an appropriate image, as Magritte and his views through structures had influenced me. Subsequently, I photographed Alex holding onto a red rope attached to a glowing, floating heart."
